The kids became accustom to apple cider this fall and have been drinking it by the (shhh… diluted) gallon-full for the past few months.

My husband raised the point that the apples used to make the cider were not organic and that we should find an alternative.

Welcome, the Vitamix! We decided that since we invested in such an amazing machine, we should try to make our own juice.  We could instantly create our own concoction, keep packaging and costs to a minimum, and use organic alternatives for those that are on the dirty dozen list.  The result was a refreshing, fiber-rich, raw juice which was simple to make. Now, what combination should we try next?…

  • 2 Clementine tangerines, peeled
  • 2 organic apples, core removed
  • 2 cups water

Feel free to sneak in some veggies like spinach or kale! Blackberries and blueberries hide this well!

Throw it in the blender (Vitamix) and let it rip!  Enjoy!  Can be stored in air tight container in refrigerator for up to 5 days, but shake well before serving.  For some added fun, you may store the remaining juice as popsicles in the freezer.  Enjoy!
